I am Dorset (pronounced "Darrrr-set") born and bred - I live in Hampshire now, but I am Dorset-'Til-I-Die.
I was the smallest of the litter - and I was not destined to be Top Cat. I was apparently given my rather distinguished name because one of my owners admired the longest serving Jamaican Prime Minister of that name.
I have had eight sets of owners/foster carers - don't ask me why? I think I am adorable!
I seem to have been passed on or left when my previous owners moved. After my fifth owners, my sixth home was a Rescue Centre for Cats, and they "fostered" me to the local Vicar who had me adopted by a very nice couple in Durweston (home # 7). He told them that I would make a good "rabbit-ter". Now I don't want to cast aspersions on a man-of-the-cloth, but I don't "do" rabbits or chasing anything! They were disappointed with my lack of enthusiasm for the chase, and so when they were thinking of moving, they asked the new owners if they would like me as part of the package?
Two weeks before completion I met my current owners, and turned on the "Patterson charm" - they were smitten and instead of being left with the new owners, I went to live by the seaside in Hampshire.
Not much is expected of me here and I tolerate their over enthusiastic kisses and cuddles - after all - all cats have nine lives, so I have one more set of owners to go to, if this situation doesn't work out for me!
